People used to call me that name all throughout middle and high school.

It’s because my name is pronounced Yunus, from Arabic (Prophet Yunus in Islam is Jonah in Christianity). And because nobody could respect that a name was from a different language and at least try to pronounce it correctly, they’d pronounce it Eunice instead. And then HEY, EUNICE RHYMES WITH PENIS! because logic!
